ATV use clarified in township
Due to a question from a resident at the February board meeting regarding all-terrain vehicle use, the Grey Cloud Island Town Board clarified the rules at its March meeting.
Under a Washington County ordinance, ATVs are not allowed to travel in ditches alongside county roads in the township. The township can adopt changes to be more restrictive, but can't be more permissive, according to Board Chair Dick Adams, who also serves on the county's planning commission.
ATVs are allowed on roads and must keep to the right as much as possible, according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
The rule also applies to cities, said Town Board Member Paul Schoenecker.
