Anytime Fitness reopens in Cottage Grove after remodel
To say Anytime Fitness manager Mary Janisch is excited to have her recently remodeled club back open is an understatement.
During the two-week remodel, owner and longtime triathlete Tracy Ferris had workers repaint the walls neon green, erect a stone wall with accessories such as T-shirts and water bottles with the gym's insignia, install new carpet throughout and add new tile to the front lobby.
"We're just excited and cannot wait to be back open," Ferris said. "We're like a big family here and we've had members calling and asking when we'd finally reopen. We're excited to have our members back."
Ferris also added two more machines and rearranged some equipment. The remodel, she added, was to stay in line with the franchise's vision of a clean, modern facility.
Since first opening the Cottage Grove Anytime Fitness location in 2006, Ferris has put money back into the club with the addition of a 400-square-foot studio and expansion of the building.
"It's great to work for someone who is constantly giving back to the business," Janisch said of Ferris. "I'm so excited and happy to be back to work."
To celebrate the grand re-opening, for the month of September new members can sign up without a joining fee and their first month is free.
With more than 12,000 members at the Cottage Grove location alone, Ferris and Janisch said they are happy to be back serving those who have stayed loyal during the construction.
Anytime Fitness is open 24 hours with key-activated access and is located at 7750 Harkness Ave. South.
