Roughly 70 to 80 art vendors will set up around Afton's Town Square Park selling a variety of items including jewelry, stained glass, photography, lawn art, painting, clothing, purses, doll clothes, hair accessories and garden art.

"We've a got a few really unique photographers," said Kathy Jarvis, one of the event organizers.

Deb Larson, one of the organizers for the event, said several of this year's vendors will have "refurbished," or recycled, art.

"Some are taking sweaters and recycling them into mittens," she said.

Also occurring during this year's event will be a business fair, which will include home remodelers, chiropractors and home businesses.

"We added a larger element to the business fair this year," Jarvis said, "because that's a nice attraction too."

Afton Art in the Park will be Saturday, Aug. 22, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 23, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. For a full schedule of events and a list of vendors visit www.aftonartfair.com.
