7 percent of voters turn out for District 833 School Board race
A small fraction of registered voters in south Washington County settled the District 833 School Board election Tuesday.
Voter turnout in the race for three board seats was 7.4 percent, Kevin Corbid, Washington County's top election official, said on Wednesday. There were 4,009 voters at the polls, out of 54,540 who were registered. Election Day registrations totaled 136 people.
Turnout was higher in the St. Paul Park mayor's race and the election of two City Council members.
A total of 569 people voted out of 2,940 who were registered to vote in St. Paul Park, Corbid said. That put turnout at 19.4 percent. Forty-two people registered to vote at the polls.
