The Eagles are under the guidance of second-year head coach Tim Otto this season.

"We have solid athletes in our upperclassmen, but we have a lot of younger athletes as well," Otto said. "We should score well in the meets and as the season goes on we hope to develop our younger athletes to place and help us."

Last year, led by 2012 graduate Dan Otto, the Eagles boys team won the MCAA conference title.

"One of our goals on the boys side is try to repeat as conference Champions and for the girls to build upon our strong performances from last year and to get the girls to score in multiple events."

The Eagles girls finished in third place in the MCAA conference meet a year ago. This year's conference meet will be held May 18.

The team will need to replace All-State hurdler Dan Otto this season. Otto finished third in the 300-meter hurdles and fourth in the 110-meter hurdles at last year's Class A state meet. The Eagles also lost

Dan Sleper and Emily Sovine to graduation last spring.

Back to guide the way for the Eagles this year, however, are captains Ryan Peterfeso, Sam Dufault and Tori Rogness. Other key athletes are expected to include Sam Hagan, Matt Michaud, Kyle Linton, Mark Schreiner, Sarah Olfelt, Abbey Gorter and Amy Maslonka.

The Eagles are scheduled to kick off the season on Thursday, April 4, with an invitational at Concordia Academy of Roseville.
