SUMMARY OF AMENDMENTS TO ZONING ORDINANCE

PURSUANT TO M.S. §412.191, Subd. 4
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 32 (TRAFFIC AND VEHICLES), SECTION 32-39 OF THE NEWPORT CODE
This ordinance amends Chapter 32 (Traffic and Vehicles), Section 32-39 of the Newport City Code.
PURPOSE AND INTENT
The ordinance is adopted for the following purposes:
1. To update the equipment standards in residential districts.
COMPLIANCE AND ENFORCEMENT
Equipment. No person shall park, stop, or stand any trailer that weighs over 10,000 pounds (lbs), back-hoe, front-end loader, bobcat, grader, asphalt paver, asphalt roller, or related road machinery or equipment for more than 24 hours upon any private property or public street in a residential zone, except as permitted under subsection (d) of this section. No more than one such vehicle or piece of equipment shall be allowed on a single parcel of property. Any person who violates a provision of the Zoning Ordinance is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined or penalized not more than the maximum levels established by the State of Minnesota for misdemeanor offenses.
