The City of Newport will accept separate sealed bids for the construction of the following project at the office of the City Administrator, City Hall, 596 7th Avenue, Newport, MN 55055, until 10:00 AM, local time, Thursday, April 24th, 2014 and then at said office publically opened and read aloud.
Said construction generally consists of urban street rehabilitation including bituminous milling, curb installation, bituminous paving, subgrade correction & repair, sanitary sewer service improvements, turf restoration, and associated work. The work includes the following approximate quantities for construction:

The advertisement for the bid package will also be placed in the following locations: Finance & Commerce legal ledger twice (April 3rd and April 10th) and the South Washington County Bulletin twice (April 2nd and 16th).
Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond, cashier\'s check, or a certified check payable to the City of Newport for at least five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, such amount shall be forfeited to the City of Newport as liquidated damages if the bidder, upon the letting of the contract to them, shall fail to enter into the contract so let; the City Council reserving the right to reject any and all bids.
No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
OWNER reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids.
