The following is a summary of amendments to the City of St. Paul Park City Code and Zoning Map, adopted by the City Council on May 18, 2009.

A summary of various amendments follows:

Ordinance No. 645

R-4 Southwest Area Residential District. The Ordinance establishes that the purpose of the R-4 Southwest Area Residential District is to provide for a variety of residential housing types that are sensitive to the environmental features of the district, that utilize the existing lot and street pattern, that facilitate the efficient use of services, and strengthen the quality of housing within the community through architectural, design and performance standards consistent with the small town character of the city. The Ordinance establishes additional properties within the boundaries for the district.

Ordinance No. 646

M-X-1 Mixed-Use Zoning for the Marina Area. The Ordinance established that the purpose of the mixed use district is to provide for areas of multiple use development that this carefully planned to promote efficient use of the land; to ensure sensitivity to resources of the Critical Area; to ensure sensitivity to the surrounding neighborhood; to retain open space by encouraging cluster development; to promote innovative site design; to ensure high quality architectural design and materials; to encourage reductions in imperious surfaces by minimizing surface parking; and, to provide good pedestrian and bicycle access. The Ordinance establishes properties within the boundaries for the district.

Ordinance No. 647

RD River Development District, Sec. 74-9, Sec. 74-44, Sec. 74-219, and Sec. 74-221. The Ordinance amends the RD River Development District, an overlay district, for the purpose of implementing the goals and policies with respect to all lands within the MNRRA/Critical Areas corridor as shown in the comprehensive plan. Other sections applicable to the river districts were amended with regard to definitions, land reclamation, accessory buildings, and fences. The Ordinance establishes all lands within the MNRRA/Critical Area Corridor.
