COTTAGE GROVE — The 23-year-old marine sport and recreation wholesaler is expanding again, after the 2015 expansion that nearly doubled the size of the lot.

61 Marine and Sports owners Al Stewart and Jeff McKenzie are proposing a 6,000-square-foot expansion of a maintenance and repair building, as well as facade renovations to other buildings and partial paving of the site.

"We just keep getting bigger, and we're just growing," Stewart said at the Oct. 16 City Council meeting.

Stewart said the business has been changing for the last seven or so years.

He said one of the focuses of the expansion is to move equipment and products inside and off the lot.

The additional 6,000 square feet on the service building on the west side of the site will centralize service to one building, moving any of that work out of the main building near the highway. The vacated area of the main building will be used for sales display.
